After hours emergency animal hospital transportation services are also available. Our local service area includes the cities of Covington, Mandeville, Madisonville, Folsom, Ponchatoula, and Hammond, Louisiana. Our local services rates for transportation and handling are:

Airport Pet Valet Shuttle Services
K-9 Cab Pet Taxi offers VIPet valet services to New Orleans International and Baton Rouge Metropolitan airport. Additionally we can provide service to regional and international airports located in Mobile and Birmingham, Alabama and Jackson, Mississippi.

Long Distance Ground Transportation
Some breeds of dogs and cats are not allowed to fly with commercial airlines either due to the perceived or real aggression of the breed or, in some cases, for the safety of the pet. Some short nosed breeds of dogs for example may not be allowed to fly on commercial airlines because it is felt that flight conditions could compromise their health. In some cases however the owner just prefers their pet receive the individual attention and lower stress associated with driving to their new home. Should overnight travel be necessary your pets stays with our staff at pet friendly motels where they can be walked, properly nourished and watered and provided the proper atmosphere for a good nights rest.

K-9 Cab Pet Taxi’s long distance service, originating from the New Orleans Metro area, includes most of the Gulf and Mid-South Region including any city in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, western Georgia and Florida, and eastern Texas. In fact, K-9 Cab will travel up to 500 miles one way to reunite you with your cherished pet. If longer distance transportation is desired we can make special arrangements on a case by case basis.

Veterinarian and Boarding Services
K-9 Cab works with many local veterinarians and can secure required health certificates, rabies vaccinations, pet boarding and required microchip services. If your pets destination is not within our local operating area, and initial boarding is necessary, we will take the extra time to research boarding availability and pricing in order to meet you and your pets needs

USDA Endorsement
All licensed veterinarians are qualified to issue health certificates for interstate travel. However, only those veterinarians attending specific training, provided by the USDA, are authorized to complete international health certificates. In many cases the USDA, and receiving countries, require health certificates and other documents, such as import permits, to be endorsed by the USDA. K-9 Cab can provide document courier services to USDA offices in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and/or Jackson, Mississippi, if desired by the client.

Airline Transportation
One of the greatest concerns pet owners may have when it comes to airline transportation is will it be safe? Yes, your cherished pet will be safe. Although your pets travel if defined as cargo, airliners which offer pet transportation shipping do so only in planes which are insulated, climate controlled, and pressurized. In other words their environment is, in many respects, the same as the passengers in the cabin. Because K-9 Cab Pet Taxi works only with professional pet transportation companies and organizations we can assure you that your pets health and well being is and will always be our primary concern.
